Iowa Core
Iowa Core Curriculum is a state-wide effort to give all students a learning experience that is engaging, preparing them to excel in global environment for educationally and professionally. The idea is for the community to be informed and engaged in the process including business and industry, families, and other community agencies acting interdependently. Schools and supporting agencies function as an integrated system and provide a coordinated approach, consistent communication, and differentiated delivery. Committed leadership actions are focused and provide the expertise, guidance, and resources needed to support teaching and learning. An overall district plan for implementation of the Iowa Core Curriculum was due to the Iowa Department of Education in July 2010 and is updated annually.
